Products I’ve Hit Pan On:: theBalm DownBoy Blush

I’ve worn this blush almost everyday in some way for the past month.  Once I see a little glimmer of the bottom of a product I want to use it nonstop so I can get something new 🙂

Products I’ve Hit Pan On— theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer, Shadow & Contour Powder

When I notice that I’ve almost used something up, I feel compelled to use it as much as possible so I can be done with it as soon as possible.  About two week ago I noticed a tiny ‘hole’ in my Bahama Mama bronzer and thought, ” Have I hit pan on this? There’s only one way to find out…” and yes I have hit pan on this product and I probably won’t used another bronzer until I’m done with this one hahaha 🙂

If memory serves correctly I believe that this was the first “high end” bronzer that I ever bought about two years ago. I mostly use this for bronzer but I have also used it as an eyeshadow as it makes a great crease color.  Lets see what theBalm has to say about their product…

Finally, a Caribbean getaway in a compact! This matte bronzer creates the look of beautifully tanned skin without any orange undertones for a fresh-off-the-beach glow. Bahama Mama also doubles as the perfect contour powder and matte brown eyeshadow. Yes, this tropical beauty keeps busy!

I do have a back up for this bronzer but I’m not planning on breaking it out just yet, I’ll try and use up at least one more of my other bronzers before I break into it.  Overall, this is probably one of my favorite bronzers and I would suggest giving it a try if you like matte brown (with no red/orange undertones) bronzers.

theBalm Meet Matt(e) Nude

Hautelook is a wonderfully dangerous place to shop.  If you don’t already know HauteLook is a Los Angeles-based online retailer, which offers members limited-time sales on clothing, accessories, kids’ items, home decor, and beauty products. It is totally free to sign up and I have found some really awesome deals on the site.  On one of my last shopping sprees I picked up this palette from  theBalm and thought I would share it with you all.  I have been looking for an all matte palette because a lot of palettes don’t have great mattes for transition and crease colors.  And surprisingly I’ve been enjoying an all matte eye as well (which is surprising to me because I love me some glitter!)

“You’ve met Matt(e), now it’s time to Meet Matt(e) Nude…nude eyeshadows that is. Because size matt(e)rs, there are nine larger Matt(e)s showing their true colors in nude hues. As a matt(e)r of fact, this palette is versatile enough to wear day and night, as liners and as all-over colors…the whole 9 yards! With so many guys to choose from, you’re sure to find your perfect shade, no matt(e)r what!”

The colors in this palette are creamy and blend amazingly.  I am really enjoying this palette more then I thought I would and at the steal I bought it for ($21.00) I love it even more!

March 2014 Birchbox

Its that time again, subscription box time!!  Lets dive in and see what this month’s Birchbox holds.

Supergoop! City Sunscreen Serum  $42.00

supergoop_citysunscreenserum-large_900x900

This is a moisturizer with sunscreen that is super lightweight.  I’ve used it twice now and I really like it.  A lot of moisturizers with sunscreen have that “smell” (you know what I mean) and they tend to be a little heavy for my oily prone skin.  Not so with this, I would seriously consider buying the product.

Air Repair Rescue Balm All-Purpose Skin Salve and Lip Balm  $12.00

airrepair_rescuebalm_900x900_1

First off the name is quite the mouthful. Second this product is known in the industry as  the “Swiss Army Knife” of beauty products. It is described as a multitasking, all-natural skin salve can be applied anywhere and everywhere—to the lips, hands, face, knees, elbows, and even cuticles—to instantly soothe and heal dry skin.  I’m excited to try this as my lips and my elbows get super dry.

theBalm How ‘Bout Them Apples? $32.00

I’ve never been disappointed in a product from theBalm, so I’m sure to love this!  Several YouTubers that I watch have reviewed this cream blush palette and I’ve only heard praise. And for real, the little sample is soooo cute!!

Michael Todd True Organics Pumpkin Nutrient-Rich Facial Mask  $34.00

michaeltodd_pumpkinfacialmask_900x900

Are you reading my mind Birchbox? I have been wanting to try Michael Todd products for over a year now and I made myself a promise that I would not buy anymore skincare products until I used what I had…. but its a sample….. and I really like it….like really like it! I’m pretty sure Michael Todd has garnered another fan.  Look for an in-depth review on an up coming Mask Monday.

Ghirardelli Intense Dark Cherry Tango

Birchbox really? Have you been reading my mind? Chocolate!  Now I have made it clear that I’m not the biggest fan of Birchbox’s “lifestyle” extras, a pen? Come on guys! But chocolate? I don’t mind finding this in my box at all.

Greenleaf Candle  $17.00

gl_signaturecandle-starlight_1

This candle made my box smell amazing.  And its little so that makes it extra cute too! Again, Birchbox I don’t mind lifestyle extra’s like candles, keep them coming.  Just hold the tea and pens please.

Sooo Ipsy has been beating Birchbox the last couple of months, but BB has really stepped up their game with this box.  And I received 6 items and not a foil packet in sight!

The Balm Bahama Mama

Bahama Mama from theBalm is one of my all time favorite Bronzers.  It is a wonderful neutral matte brown, it does not have a reddish shade which I appreciate.   A lot of bronzer (high-end and drugstore) contain shimmer (which is not good for my acne  scarred skin) and tend to come off muddy and orange on my fair skin.  This is a bronzer that I think would work on anyone with fair skin like me to a medium  skin tone.  I have also used this as an eye-shadow, it works great as a crease color.

theBalm Stainiac

stainiac_productshot_1

Stainic is a lip and cheek stain by theBalm.  I received a deluxe sample size in my birchbox a few months ago.  I have used this as both a stain for my cheeks and my lips.

If you are using this as a lip stain I would suggest is to make sure your lips a moisturized and are free of any dead skin.  The first time I used this product I had slightly dry lips and this did not look so hot clinging to the dry patches on my lips.  This is a light rose color which can be built up to a semi medium color.   My lips are natural pretty pigmented so I had to add 5 coats before I achieved my desired color. As a cheek stain I swiped to strips on my cheeks and blended with my fingers.  I did this twice to achieve the color you see below.

Overall I like this product and I would put it on my wishlist.  If someone wants to buy it for me, I will be happy, however it is not the type of product that I plan on purchasing myself.  It rates OK in my book, not bad or horrible but not overwhelmingly amazing either. In the picture below I am wearing it on my lips and my cheeks.
