When my friend Emily and I head to Sephora its never a good situation for our bank accounts. I credit her with first telling me about this primer and I have fallen in love. I’m halfway through my second bottle so I think a review is in order. First off this primer looks pretty cool swirled in the bottle with colors of lavender, pink and green. According to Stila, this innovative, triple-swirled helix serum instantly color-corrects, brightens and covers skin imperfections for a flawless face with no fuss.
Is my face flawless after application? No, but I can definitely tell a difference in the tone of my skin and it makes the application of foundation much smoother.
This primer contains Stila’s Youth Revival Bio-Available Mineral Complex:
- Magician- Instantly makes imperfections disappear
- Multitasker – Reduces fine lines, wrinkles, pores and pigmentation
- Miracle Worker- Hydrates, controls oil and improves skin texture
I’m sure your next question is the same as mine was, why all the colors and what do they do?
- Green tone instantly neutralizes redness and conceals blemishes
- Lavender tone counteracts sallow undertones for a vibrant, energized look
- Peach tone brightens, illuminates and helps diminish the appearance of sun spots

Its that time of month…
Lips: NYX Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler. This is a gorgeous red orange color, but its totally wearable. The Butter Gloss formula is amazing and it feels so good on the lips and it smells like sugar!
Lovely By Sarah Jessica Parker I have wanted to try this perfume mostly because the bottle was pretty and I liked the name! I saw this at my local Ross deeply discounted and knew that the time was right! This perfume smells heavenly! My sister said it reminded her of a grandma perfume but I think it smells like a sophisticated lady, so therefore I shall wear it. This is a blend of mandarin, rosewood, lavender, apple martini, and bergamot. Sooo Good!!
High Beam by Benefit I’ve been mixing a little bit of this highlighter in with my foundation and it makes me look amazing! When I use a heaver full coverage foundation I add just a few drops and it gives my skin a glowy effect but not shimmery. You know the difference 🙂 perfect for late summer nights out! I’m recycling an old pictures but you can see High Beam below.
Nellie and Bea from Julep
I’m loving this color combo! I added it to my toes and I’ve gotten nothing but compliments! These two colors are the perfect summer combo.
Melaleuca Lip Balm- in Sugar and Spice
The consistence of this balm reminds me of fresh Sugar balms. Its super soft so I don’t recommending leaving them anywhere they will get overheated as they will melt. I thought you could buy this product without being a member but I can seem to be able to directly order from their site. I have seen this brand on ebay and amazon or you could find a distributor in your area.
Stila One Step Correct I’ve never been in love with a primer before I think this may be it! I will be giving a full review this week so stay tuned!
What were your favorites from the moth of July? Let me know!
I am always on the hunt for a full coverage foundation with excellent coverage and staying power til the cows come home. And the cheaper the better!! Well this one wasn’t cheap…. and it creases…. Like bad creases! Bummer y’all…
I am in the shade “Ivory” which is a good match for me and with the price tag of $38 I expected this foundation to stay put though the hottest blazes of the Florida sun. But alas, It creased like crazy in my air conditioned office, so I can’t imagine what it would do if I wore it outside for any length of time. I have now tried it three times. The first with no primer (creasing horribly), the second time with Too Faced Primed and Poreless (still slight creasing but not as bad as without any primer) and the last day I wore it with Stila One Step Correct (still creased but not as bad as with nothing).
Even with setting powder and primers, this foundation pulled around my nose and cheeks, not pretty ladies!
According to Sephora’s website “Whether oily, dry o r combination, “skin-smart” Amazonian clay will intuitively adjust to meet and address your skin concerns for makeup that wears better, longer, and truer. This revolutionary foundation reduces the appearance of pores, discolorations, and imperfections and ensures a perfectly flawless complexion every time.”
Does it reduce the appearance of pores, discolorations and imperfections? Yes, upon application I was impressed with the coverage and the natural finish it left on my skin. My skin still looked like my skin, only better. However the “skin-smart” technology? Well it didn’t work that well for me. If you want to give this a try I would suggest getting a sample before shelling out the dough.
