F35-2

Sigma Says:: Unique Feature: Small and tapered with a precise tip
Function: Subtle highlighting
Recommended Use: Apply highlighting shades onto the upper contours of the face. Diffused finish gives skin a natural glow.

Lara Says:: I actually find this brush very useful in applying bronzer and for contouring.  I can get just the right amount of product on the brush put it right where I want and then take a bigger fluffy brush and blend out.  Try your brushes out in different areas of your face and the possibilities are endless!! And extra points for Multitasking products/supplies!!

Pop Beauty Aqua Lacquer in Flowering Fuchsia

PicMonkey Collage4569

Pop Beauty Says:: This refreshing water-light luxe gloss will bathe your lips in hydration & protect with Vitamin E. We also added Jojoba oil, an exceptional moisturizer for maximum lip comfort. These sheer colour tints provide staying power as well as a cure for thirsty lips.

Lara Says:: I keep this is my purse so I always have it.  It has become my go to gloss and is great over any lipstick or just by itself.  It has a slight mint flavor and does tingle a bit when you apply it.  It has staying power with minimum stickiness.  If I ever use this up I will definitely be buying another!

Maybelline’s Dream Wonder Powder in Porcelain Ivory

 Dream-Wonder-Ivory-15-Pack-

Maybelline Says:: Maybelline’s Dream Wonder Powder is 100% Second- Skin Powder Foundation Perfection. Creamy glide, smooth flawless finish, perfect skin. Feels like powderless powder.

Lara Says:: This is probably the most amazing pressed powder I have found at the drugstore.  And you know I love it because I have recommended it to no less than 10 people.  It goes on smooth and doesn’t look cakey whatsoever and the coverage is buildable. So you can use it as a powder over your foundation and for touchups throughout the day (as I typically do). Or you can build it up to full coverage and wear it alone.  This is my second time repurchasing and won’t be my last!

Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara

 PicMonkey Collage89

Mally Says:: This Volumizing Mascara has a unique formula that helps create the look of gorgeous, full, luxurious lashes. The combination of natural waxes and carefully chosen powders gives lashes an instant boost. The plush brush works with the powders in the formula to help thicken lashes without clumping, giving you gorgeous volume that lasts and lasts.

Lara Says:; I received this mascara in a birchbox and I love it! If you have been a reader of this blog for any length of time you know I call myself a mascara whore.  I cannot stay faithful to one and I feel  I am on an eternal quest to find the holy grail of mascara that curls, lengthens, separates and is volumizing… I know it exist and I will find it.  Until then this is pretty awesome.  I did a review which you can find here.

Herbal Essence ‘Naked Volume Dry Shampoo

 pp_ds

Herbal Essence Says:: The Herbal Essence Website:: refresh your strands, water not necessary. with natural tapioca, my formula absorbs oil and rejuvenates dirty hair for a clean feeling. invigorate your strands with the scent of white grapefruit and mint and feel naturally beautiful without parabens or dyes.

Lara Says:: Still my favorite after trying many. Clear application and it absorbs the oil and gives some volume and lift.  I did a review and comparison a few months ago, you can read it here.

And now for my one Un-Favorite/ Fail….

Benefit they’re real! push-up liner

download (1)

Benefit Says:: It’s the FIRST EVER lash-hugging gel liner in a pen! This matte black gel formula won’t smudge, budge or dry out, and the innovative soft AccuFlex™ Tip hugs your lashline from corner to corner. The closer the line, the bigger the eye!
91% said it was longwearing*
81% said it was waterproof*
88% said it hugged the lashline*
84% said eyes looked visibly larger*
*Results observed in a consumer panel survey on 32 women after 2 weeks

Lara Says:: I watched and read enough reviews that I was apprehensive to try this liner.  I received it in my last birchbox and I was not impressed.  First off, mine did dry out, as the cap didn’t want to stay on.  This may have only been an issue with the sample size I received and not the full size product but after about the third time the lid popped off after I put it on it finally stayed down.  And when applying I found that either I got nothing out or way too much came out.  For me I much prefer the use of a pencil or gel liner with a brush as I have more control.

What Were Your Favorites from the Month of August?

Review:: Be A Bombshell….Lash Out Mascara

PicMonkey Collage

I received a full size mascara in my Birchbox and my Ipsy bag this month.  I love me some mascara so I was excited to try both of them out.  First off this mascara has a horrible smell, I mean like really really bad.  I debated even using it but I figured what wouldn’t hurt and hopefully I wouldn’t smell it on my eyelashes.

photo 1 (5)

No Mascara, it is looking mighty scary!!

photo 2 (5)

One coat on the left eye, no mascara on the right.  I don’t think this picture really shows it well but with one coat all this really did was coat my lashes.  There was a little definition but not any volume and not much curl.

photo 3 (3)

Whoo Hoo now both eyes have a smelly mascara coating…

photo 4 (2)

And with two coats on the right eye, you really can’t tell much of a difference.  If you read my post on the Mally volumizing mascara that I got in my Birchbox, there was a huge difference between one and two coats.

photo 5

So… Finally verdict?  Not worth the $15.00  The smell is enough not to repurchase but I felt like this mascara ‘coated’ my lashes.  There was a little definition, but no volume or length added.

Review:: Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara

PicMonkey Collage89

If you read my post on Monday about my June Birchbox you will know I received a Mally mascara.  I have never used anything from this brand so I was super excited to give it a try, and you all know I love me some mascara.

Lets take a look at what my lashes look like without mascara so we can see if this will really make a difference.

photo 11

It is hard to see in the above picture but I promise I have a few eyelashes!

photo 22

Ok this is a better picture.  As you can see in the first picture, my lashes are straight and stick out, not a lot of curl so its hard to see them looking straight on.

photo 33

Alright as you can see there is a little more definition but not a lot of curl.

photo 44

Now we are getting somewhere!  The second coat give me a lot more volume and also a bit of lift.

photo 3 (2)12

Wow, can you tell the difference between one and two coats of this stuff? Ready for a better picture to really show the difference?

photo 4 (2)

And do you notice my lashes don’t look clumpy? I really think I could have gone for coat three and been alright.  I wore this mascara for over nine hours and did not notice any flaking or smudging  and the mascara doesn’t have a funny smell like some tend to. This is a win for me, this was worth my whole Birchbox!!

June 2014 Birchbox ” Away We Go”

photo 1

It’s birchbox time ladies!  This month’s theme is “Away We Go” which makes sense since summer is the time for vacations.  It also showcases Birchbox’s new partnership with JetBlue.  They have created amenity kits for the airlines Mint Experience.  You can read all about that here.  Now, onto what is in the fabulous pink box!

Cynthia Rowley Creamy Lip Stain in “Valentine”

YAY!  I have eyeliners and eyeshadows from Cynthia Rowley so I am excited to try this lip stain. And come on look at this little lip stain, it’s the cutest thing!  “Valentine” is a pink coral and it has a great texture. Glides on smooth and is super creamy, but not sticky.  After I rubbed the swatch off my arm, there was a ‘stain’ of pink so this for sure is lip stain.

Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream

This is one of products that you hear a lot about and has ‘Holy Grail’ status for many people.  This little size is perfect for traveling and I’m leaving for vacation soon so I will be sure to take this along and see what the big deal is.  According to the Birchbox card this is an all-natural all-purpose slave.  It can be used to moisturize, fight wrinkles and bread burns and bruises. I plan on using it as a lip salve.

Harvey Prince Perfume “Hello”

I think the last two or three fragrance samples I’ve received in my birchbox have been from Harvey Prince.  When I first sprayed this on I got a strong scent of rubbing alcohol, yuck!  After a few seconds that smell dissipated and I got a lovely citrus and floral scent.  According to the handy card this fragrance has notes of Meyer Lemon, Mandarin Grapefruit, Forsythia and Plumeria.  I like this one, good choice Birchbox.

Lierac Paris Micellar Cleansing Water

This is a new brand to me so I’m excited to try it.  I am a fan of cleansing water and this one has a fresh clean scent.  I plan on putting it to work tonight.

Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara

Yes!! Another brand that I’ve been dying to try!  I love me some mascara (I have been known to call myself a mascara whore as I cannot be faithful to one…) Look for a review to come soon! Also props to Birchbox, I’m excited to get a full size item in my box.
