e.l.f. Studio Acne Fighting Foundation

I am always on the hunt for a full coverage foundation that doesn’t  look like or feel like full coverage foundation and is long wearing.  You wouldn’t think that was impossible but apparently it is…  I am always sucked in when e.l.f has an amazing sell (which is often so beware) and I bought this on a whim to see how it would work.

I know a lot of people have a difficult time buying foundation online, but I do not usually have that problem.  I am so fair I am always the lightest or second lightest shade.  I have found with drugstore foundations I am usually the lightest shade and higher end the second lightest.  So, armed with this knowledge I purchased this foundation in ‘Ivory’ the lightest shade.  Which turned out to be a good choice as this foundation oxidizes 😦

Coverage: Medium, but buildable to Full

Color Match: There are only 8 shades in the collection so many people may have trouble finding a match, keep in mind as I said mine oxidized so you may be better off getting a shade lighter then you normally would.

Price:  $6.oo is a great deal and even better then a lot of drugstore foundations which are trending towards the $8-$14 mark.  Also you will probably never have to pay full price for this foundation as e.l.f is always running sales.

Longevity:  I give this a 5 1/2, I did get oily but that is not unusual for me.  A blotting with Clean and Clear sheets and powder touch up after four hours isn’t a biggie for me.  As the day  wore on (about 6 hours in) I did notice  the foundation settling into the lines around my face.  At that point I was home so a damp beauty blender took care of that issue.

Overall: For $6.00 (and sometimes cheaper) I am impressed most of all with the coverage.  It goes on easily with the acne fighting ingredients, it may be too harsh on sensitive skin and too drying for dry skin. As an everyday foundation this is great.  It is not one I would choose for a special event or a day where I knew I would be running around and not have a lot of time to spend on blotting or touch ups.

This is after my touch up, all I did to the photo was crop it.  I think it looks pretty good on film to!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation

Have you ever heard about a product that everyone seems to be using and finally one day you pick it up and literately kick yourself for not trying it sooner?  Well  I didn’t kick myself but I did ask myself what took me so long… It seems that quite a few of the YouTube channels I watch have been using this foundation and recently it was on sale and I had a coupon, so I thought what the hay, I will give it a try.  Oh my word, A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

I have stayed away from Covergirl products in the past for two reasons.  1.  When I was first starting out with makeup, Covergirl was the cheapest, so that’s what I bought and it holds a lot of bad makeup decision memories for me….  2.  Covergirl has made me breakout in the past, so I pretty much just swore off the whole line, which I now realize was stupid!

This foundation has great coverage and has done an awesome job of keeping my oily skin somewhat matte throughout the day.  I will say, for me personally, I still use a primer and a concealer.  But I have bad skin, if you have clear skin, you may be able to skip these products and only use the foundation as advertised.
