June 2016 Favorites

For some reason I’ve gotten away from doing monthly favorites and I want to get back!

Clinique Long Last Lipstick in All Heart — $17.00

This is a red coral and it has been living in my purse for the past month.  It feels very soft and smooth and it wears really well!

Lush Tea Tree Water Toner– $22.95

This is a good to for summer and I forgot how much I loved it!  I like to mist this on my face in the morning before I put on my makeup and sometimes throughout the day too.  It is not a makeup extending or setting spray but  I don’t find that it messes up my make up if I spray it on top.

Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm– $12.00

First off this smells amazing! It has a fresh citrus scent and is very thick in texture.  I had neglected to exfoliate my lips for a few weeks and my skin was more dry due to my acne medications and my lips were looking rough!  I used this at night and after 3 nights my lips were in great shape!

Makeup Geek Blush in Spell Bound– $10.00

This is the old formula but I still love it!  The color is a salmon pink and finish is matte. The pigmentation is great for these blushes and you can’t beat the price.

benefit Erase Paste Brightening Concealer in Fair– $26.00

I have almost hit pan on this jar!  I like the consistency of this concealer as it is thick (so it has good coverage) but it is also very creamy and easy to blend.  I do have to make sure I set it with a powder but it lasts all day and does a great job of covering up the darkness under and in the corner of my eyes.

Soap and Glory  The Scrub of Your Life– $12.00

This is a good scrub if you are looking for something that isn’t too harsh.  The scent is light and a combination of floral and citrus.  You can pick this up in the US at Ulta!

Marc Jacobs Dot Perfume–$96.00

I think I only wore this scent for a solid week in June.  It has a nice combination of floral and fruity that I love.  The notes are Red Berries, Dragonfruit, Honeysuckle, Jasmine, Coconut Water, Orange Blossom, Vanilla, Driftwood, Musk.  On me I feel like the musk, Jasmine and Vanilla really come through and it has a nice lingering scent.

BH Cosmetics Pride+Prejudice+Zombies Eye and Cheek Palette– $12.50

This has been my go to this past month. The variety of colors and finish is awesome and the staying power is pretty good as well.  The formula can be a little powdery and some of the colors do take a bit to build up but you can’t be the price! I also really love the shimmer blush that is in the palette.  It reminds me a bit of Orgasm by Nars… I’m now going to do a swatch test lol 🙂

LOC One & Done Shadow Sticks in On Point and Day Trip– $10.00 Each

I like to use these shadow sticks as a base for other eye shadows.  I find that for me they are not enough on their own.  I do have oily eyelids so I find that all day wear with these will leave me with some creasing or they will just straight up disappear from my eyelid. But, they do make a great base and they work well with the BH Cosmetics palette as some of the shadows are not as pigmented and the base color really helps to bring out the best in the shadow stick and the powder eye shadow set the cream.  All in all its a win win!

Face of the Day with Naked 3

While I was laying in bed last night I was thinking about how I was going to do my makeup the next day (please tell me I’m not the only one who does this…. ) and thought to myself “I haven’t used the Naked 3 in a long time I’ll use that! ” Well… I was really planning on doing something adventurous but I woke up late and while I did end up using the Naked 3 I did a simple look.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and BH Cosmetics- Part 2

I was planning on just numbering the shades in the palette but I found the pictures below on BH Cosmetics Instagram and apparently the shadows have names although they aren’t on the packaging.

I have Elizabeth Motts Thank Me Later Eyeshadow Primer all over my lid.  I then put Bone all over over my lid up into my crease. Then I used a mixture of Burnt Sienna and Chocolate Brown in the crease and really defused it with a fluffy crease brush.  Then I used Shell Beige on the outer and inner portions of my lid leaving the middle section of my eyelid clean.  Then I popped Yellow Gold on the middle of my eyelid. I chose Pale Ivory and Lilac Pink mixed as an inner corner highlight.  In the second pictures below I  used a mixture of Slate Gray and Shimmering Charcoal on my lower lash line and Avon SuperShock Gel Eye Liner Pencil in Aqua Pop on my lower lash line.

I have the shades Jane and Mary on my lips. I’m working on a separate post with the Lip Glosses swatched!

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and BH Cosmetics

I’m a die hard Jane Austen Fan. If it has her name on it I’m in.  Now I’m also a purest so don’t go around trying to make my beloved Jane Austen into something she is not.  All that to say, I”m also a weirdo and love the horror/thriller genre.  When I heard that Pride and Prejudice was going to be mixed with Zombies, I knew I had to see it.  It would either be an epic fail or something amazing.  And it was something amazing; now you totally have to suspend your belief but it was over all an enjoyable if not ridiculous movie made all the more wonderful by Matt Smith as Mr. Collins.  Seriously I laughed hysterically every time he was on screen.  Enough with my movie review; I bought the BH Cosmetics Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Eye shadow and Cheek Palette and also the Lip Gloss kit.

I decided my eyes needed something a little more later in the day so I added an blue liner underneath my lower lash line and I love the way it looks!
