I received the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer in an Influenster box about 4 or 5 months ago…. and I completely forgot about it until I was cleaning this past weekend and stumbled upon it. There are three scents and I have the Nourishing Monoi Oil; this is what Jergins has to say….
“Step out of the shower and into a floral paradise with the nourishing, floral scent of monoi oil. JERGENS® Wet Skin™ Moisturizer contains a breakthrough new formula that blends with water when your skin is most receptive to moisture (right after bathing, when your pores are open). Simply rub in and pat dry. Enjoy the soft and smooth benefits of the monoi oil formula, wrap yourself in the scent of the Tahitian gardenia flower and get on with your day. ”
First off the skin that is not on my face is fairly normal (face is super super oily). I rarely get dry skin minus my elbows only in the dead of winter (which in Florida is like 5 days :) ) Because my skin is normal and doesn’t feel dry and tight I hardly ever use a moisturizer, body lotion or butter on my skin. A lot of lotions and body butters are too thick and leave my skin feeling greasy and take a long time to soak in.
The first time I used this I wasn’t overly wowed. And it is strange to use a lotion (albeit a very thin lotion) on your wet body. It was ok but nothing that I felt was amazing. I have used it four times now and I like it more every time! Don’t know what changed but my skin feels very soft after using and I like that I don’t feel greasy. If you have very dry skin this probably won’t do much for you. But if you are like me and have normal to moderately dry skin I think you may like this. This retails from $5.99–$7.99 so if you would like to give this a go you may want to shop around and make sure you are getting the best price.
I’ve been a big fan of Colourpop since the company was started a little over a year ago. When their Fall collection was released I took a peek and decided that I needed to pick up a few things. Six Lippie Stix were released and I picked up two.

New York Color Liquid Lipshine in Rivington Rose — $2-$4 depending on where you buy it
This is a great neutral mauve-y pink that goes with anything. And it makes your lips look glossy without being sticky and you can’t beat the price!
e.lf. Studio Contour Palette — $6.00
This Contour Palette is the bomb dot com! I absolutely love it. All of the shades (two bronzer and two highlighters) are pigmented and blend really well. The highlighters are not super shiny or glittery so if that’s what you like you will not be a fan of these, but if like me you like a little sheen and brightening you will love them.
Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara — $ 6.99-7.99 depending where you buy.
This is one of those products that I’ve heard people rave about and I just never tried it. Ulta had a sale on Covergirl so I decided to give this a whirl and I have to say I’m very impressed. Definitely separates the lashes (no clumps duh!) but it still give volume and length.
theBalm CabanaBoy Blush — $21.00
This blush is a dusty rose color with a plum overtone that is perfect for fall! I think I wore it every day this week. Also never pay full price for products from theBalm. Their website has sales all the time and they are also on Hautelook quite a bit. You might want to also check out your local Kohl’s their products can often be found there as well.
Orgins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores — $25.00
This mask features activated charcoal which acts like a magnet to draw out deep-dwelling pore-cloggers. It also has White China clay which absorbs environmental toxins, and lecithin dissolves impurities. Lots of fancy talk to say that this mask makes my skin feel amazing. Very soft and smooth and the areas that get congested with grease and gunk (nose, cheeks and sometimes chin) feel cleaned and refreshed after using this!
L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eye Liner in True Teal –$7.99-8.99 Depending on where you buy it
I decided to try this eye liner after hearing one of favorite Youtubers Coffee Break with Dani rave about it earlier this year. I picked up True Teal for me and Black for my mom. These eye liners are great for your water and tight line. For the most part they don’t move and if they do fade I don’t get weird goop in the corner of my eyes like most eyeliners do to me. When Ulta has a sale on L’oreal I will be picking up a few more of these!
Let me know what you enjoyed in the month of September and what you are looking forward to in October!
Umm, Yeah the title of this product is a mouthful, but I will show forgiveness because it is awesome! If you are an avid reader of beauty blogs or watcher of beauty gurus on YouTube I’m sure this isn’t the first time you have heard of this product. I’ve been using it for over a year now and I think this is the 2nd or 3rd tube I’ve gone through. I used the ‘Brightner’ shade for concealing under my eyes and also as a highlighter on my forehead, down the middle of my nose, under my nose and on my chin. If I set with a powder this stays in place all day. It is a light pink/salmon color which is great for color correcting dark circles.
Here is what Maybelline had to say about their product…
Micro-corrector applicator + super concentrated formula instantly creates a radiant, refreshed looking eye area. Super concentrated formula with goji berry + haloxyl helps to erase the appearance of dark circles and fine lines, while visibly diminishing the appearance of puffiness around the eyes.
I have already purchased a back up and will be breaking into it as soon as this is all used up! My only complaint (and its minor) is that after a certain period of time, my sponge tip always seems to fall off. I can still use it no problem so its not a big issue for me.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer in Brightner– $8.99
Day 0- My hair is freshly washed and conditioned and as you can see my hair is quite straight. After combing through my partially air dried hair I put a volumizing mousse in my roots and worked through my hair and also added a little sea salt spray and combed through to distribute. Then I made a high bun on the top of my head and went to sleep (just kidding I got in my bed and watched Netflix’s and then way after I should have been asleep I finally turned off Netflix’s and went to sleep. )
Day 1- soo….. I should have let my hair air dry a little more before I put it up but yeah that’s life people. Plan on making a blog post and plan out how to do your hair and your hair doesn’t get the memo…. Usually when I do this my hair has more volume and wave but this is what I’m working with people! My hair has a slight wave to it and I ended up putting my hair into a half top knot but neglected to take a picture. :(
End of Day 1- After a long day at work and after my shower where I didn’t wash my hair time to prep for day 2! Brushed through my hair and added dry shampoo to my roots. Although my hair is not yet oily I know it will be tomorrow so in anticipation I added some to my roots and massaged it in before pulling into a high ponytail. After pulling my hair up into a ponytail I added a little hair spray and sea salt to my hair that was in the ponytail and pulled out my Conair Flexible Spiral Curl Rollers and divided my hair into six sections using the rollers.
Day 2- Took my rollers out and used my fingers to gently break apart the curls. I try not to mess with them too much or they can get frizzy. I added a light misting of hairspray and ended up putting a head band on after I took the picture.
End of Day 2- It was a long day that included walking five blocks in the Florida humidity so my curls look a little deflated. I brushed it out and added some dry shampoo to my roots and added some sea salt to the lower half of my hair before I french braided it. I took a picture of my french braid but it did not turn out well. But this is my hair at the end of the day before I braided it.
Day 3- Took out my french braid and I had lots of volume and a slight wave to my hair. I teased the crown area and pulled it into a high pony and then braid it and “fluff” or “pancaked” the braid to give some more volume and make the braid bigger. I then wrapped the braided ponytail into a bun and Voilà!
End of Day 3- Its time for hair washing!
I bought this powder at Target about 6 months ago and I used it a few times and didn’t think it was anything special so it was put in the back of the drawer. For whatever reason about a month ago I pulled it out and used it and asked myself why I ever shoved it in the back of the drawer! This is a great powder for mattifying and I honestly do think that it does help slightly with color correcting. After checking the e.l.f. website I realize that there are three different types of this powder. There is a ‘cool toned powder’ (which is what I have), a ‘warm toned powder’ and a ‘shimmer powder’.
This is what e.l.f. has to say about their powder…
Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out skin tone and absorbs excess oil, and sheer formula brightens, mattes and neutralizes the skin. The colors are meant to be blended together as the Blue neutralizes orange, the Green neutralizes red, the Pink neutralizes grey and the Yellow brightens and neutralizes red.
As you hit pan on this product it does become difficult to use as it starts to crumple. I think I will pry the rest of this out of the compact, put it in a old powder foundation container and crush it up to use as a loose powder. I will be repurchasing this product in the future, but first I want to use up at least one more powder in my collection.
e.l.f. Studio Tone Correcting Powder in Cool— $3.00
When I notice that I’ve almost used something up, I feel compelled to use it as much as possible so I can be done with it as soon as possible. About two week ago I noticed a tiny ‘hole’ in my Bahama Mama bronzer and thought, ” Have I hit pan on this? There’s only one way to find out…” and yes I have hit pan on this product and I probably won’t used another bronzer until I’m done with this one hahaha :)
If memory serves correctly I believe that this was the first “high end” bronzer that I ever bought about two years ago. I mostly use this for bronzer but I have also used it as an eyeshadow as it makes a great crease color. Lets see what theBalm has to say about their product…
Finally, a Caribbean getaway in a compact! This matte bronzer creates the look of beautifully tanned skin without any orange undertones for a fresh-off-the-beach glow. Bahama Mama also doubles as the perfect contour powder and matte brown eyeshadow. Yes, this tropical beauty keeps busy!
I do have a back up for this bronzer but I’m not planning on breaking it out just yet, I’ll try and use up at least one more of my other bronzers before I break into it. Overall, this is probably one of my favorite bronzers and I would suggest giving it a try if you like matte brown (with no red/orange undertones) bronzers.
